Poll on who to Boycott for overt Republican financing

My previous diary entry suggested that we organize a boycott of retailers that give to Republican politicians 80-100% of the time. This boycott would stay in affect until the companies even out their political spending among both parties.

Some suggested that the poll should be limited to a few companies to get our point across. Therefore I decided to make this poll to see who people wanted to boycott.

I would prefer to allow people to vote for three, but I don't know how to do that without making many diary entries with the same poll.

I concur with the people in my previous diary that we should have a permanent boycott of Walmart due their policies that cause jobs to be sent overseas and their poor labor practices to everybody but their managment employees.

I would also recommend permanently boycotting Exxon due to their poor business and environmental practices. I don't buy from them because their gas makes my engine ping.

    I have used colgate toothpaste since I was a kid. Heck, I was even in a colgate ad as a kid(my dad worked in an ad agency.)

        I took out an MBNA credit card earlier this year and can concur that they are the absolute worst. The hit you with charges for everything you do, and I mean everything. Write a check on the card, $10 fee. Get a cash advance, $7.50 fee. And the interest... my god. I'm paying it down as quickly as I can so I can cut it up, send it back, and never have them darken my wallet again.

        But in the meantime, my boycott vote goes to the fake Australian restaurant chain, Outback Steakhouse.

        "Blooming onion"... I'm from Australia and I've never heard of such a thing. Death to the Outback Steakhouse and all the folksy, fake aussie crap of its ilk (like the Crocodile Hunter)!

  We're boycotting all of them.  We've printed up all the lists and have combed through them for anything we have patronized in the past and have made a list of these things to avoid.  It's not  hard to avoid all of them.  Might cost a wee bit more, but it's cheap at the price if it helps.  I suspect this boycott will be worldwide before too long, and we need to encourage that.  Send the links to your friends in other countries!  The world is blue (except Saudi Arabia and Poland).

  My dilemma: my favorite supermarket, Safeway, is on the shit list. But they are also union, so I want to support that. The other supermarkets in my area are non-union. So what's a person to do?

    I have Giant, though, which I loathe, but they are both union and apparently not that evil.  Safeway was my favorite store.  *sigh*

    My decision has been to boycott them though, because when I look at it from the big picture, it's a no brainer for me.  Workers will be better off under Democrats period, whether they are union or not.  Unions will do better under Democrats period.  And most of all, my soul will be better off if I know a portion of my money is not going to the Republican party.

    I also need to stay with State Farm Insurance. They do a mighty fine job in an industry of slugs.

    What I don't get is why so many Credit Unions support Republicans. By definition they should lean more Democratic. I am proud to say that my credit union is one of the few to support Democrats.

    Don't you just love the Hooters chain supporting the morals crowd?! Don't they realize they are supporting the people who want to kill their type of restaurant?

    I am stunned that my former employer, Lucent Technologies, has given more to Democrats, 62%, than Republicans. But they were still scuzzbags. AT&T is evenly split between the two.
