One of the topics discussed at my Thanksgiving dinner was the need for democrats to know that there's a large community of us out there. I'm still proud to have a Kerry/Edwards bumper sticker on my car, but I think it's time to start thinking about new stickers that will build community and make people think about the choices we can make for our country.
So here's a couple of designs I'm tossing around. I'd appreciate any feedback before I go ahead and print up a run of them to see what people think.
See more below the break...
The main theme of the stickers is "Restore America's Ideals". I've already thought about changing America's to American, but I think America's evokes a sense of ownership of the ideals as opposed to American which seems more abstract.
Another idea is "Restore the Light" with a light surrounding the Statue of Liberty. This is a pleasing image and the idea of America as a beacon of light in the world is nice, but seems a bit religious.
I'd love to see a unifying sticker on thousands of cars (to replace the Kerry/Edwards ones)- so please help in this effort. I'll make them available at cost if we can get enough interest.
The Wal-Mart one is another I've been thinking about (playing on the 'Rollback Prices' theme). Let me know what you think of that one, too.
NOTE: The images used here are from the Corbis preview site. I'll need to get royalty free versions before going any further. These are for discussion only.
So, without further adieu, here are the designs I've been working on.
