Front Page Boycott List: Buying America Blue

Wed Nov 03, 2004 at 11:11:03 PM PDT

The BUYING AMERICA BLUE idea is a fabulous one. But I feel like we are making it too complicated. Here is my take on what would be the most simple and effective.

  1. We use this Kos site because we are all already united here.

  2. On the Front Page here we have a Boycott List.

  3. We start with one company, and every week we add a company to the list!

  4. The Company of the week also gets a letter writing campaign shoved down their throat explaining why they are being punished, and how they can get taken off the BLACK LIST! (or RED LIST).

I say one company a week so that we can be FOCUSED. If we don't keep this simple IT WILL NOT HAPPEN. Evil corporate lists already exist all over the place. A concentrated weekly boycott effort for all Democrats and Progressives does not!

This is our chance to have that! Let's do it!

This is a great idea but surely we can increase the pace a little - say 5 or 10 companies a week. There are afterall, so many soldiers marching toward oligarchy.

No more than five though for the focused effort list. There can be a separate list totale for people who want to boycott all at once, don't you think?

That way the companies will feel the effects more poignantly, and our letter writing can be coordinated.

I was thinking of it myself today too.  Glad someone is going to get the ball rolling.

I wouldn't support a boycott of advertisers because of content of a show.  But I would support a boycott of a show or a network.

Last night, Tom Brokaw and NBC were despicable with their coverage of the election.

They were the only one of the 3 major networks to declare a Bush victory before this morning. If they didn't...perhaps Kerry wouldn't have given up the fight so soon.  A fight that is still within the realm of reasonability..with up to 250,000 provisional ballots still not counted.

NBC had the gall to award OHio to Bush while voters were still waiting on line.  They are total scum.  They promised they wouldn't do this before.  But I guess that's the reason Mr. Brokaw didn't want to retire until after this election.

They should have done the right thing and pulled Ohio off the map until the results were more clear.  I guess they didn't have any paint thinner available to wipe the paint off the rink in Rockefeller Center.

    NBC is a disgrace.

I plan to avoid it.  I'll still watch the news every now and them...so that I can write about it.  But I will not watch any shows or sitcoms....sorry, Joey.

I have already cut the subscription to my cable tv and I don't use atm machines anymore. It would be real helpful if we could find out the places that Diebold has their atms so we could specifically boycott them. My feelings are Diebold MUST come down first - and come down BIG, to make an impact and a strong statement about what we're doing. Run the thieves to the ground. That's the only way we are going to get our country back.
