Over the past few months, particularly since the reccomendation feature has been added to the diaries, I have noticed that diary titles have become more interesting, yet more inaccurate in terms of the actual contents of the posts.
I suspect that the recommendation feature has created a stronger sense of competition - i.e. if I can pull more eyeballs to my diary, I am more likely to get recommended and therefore more likely to stay up longer. Interestingly enough, our community has started to reflect newspaper journalism in a way.
I am personally starting to get annoyed by some of the titles out there, but was wondering what the larger community thinks. Should the rules be extended to encourage people to use accurate titles, or do people like what I like to call 'diary disappointment'? Take the poll.
(As a side comment, I would ask you to recommend this to make the poll accurate, but that would defeat the purpose.)
Update [2004-12-6 18:14:18 by shinsetsuguy]: I half posted this as a rant, but I actually think from the intermediate, albeit small ,reaction, that people agree with me. Kos, what do you think? At least suggest it? Recommend this diary for real so that Kos will see it if you agree.
