There is so much more important stuff going on these days for anyone to even bat an eye at the prospect of steroids in professional baseball, but a re-airing on C-SPAN of the super camera-covereded steroids in baseball event from March is very interesting in light of Palmeiro's admission that he "accidently" used steroids after he testified UNDER OATH he did not...
Palmeiro took them "accidentally" now and he is engaged in a CYA operation (cover your rear) with the goofy accident talk. It was an "accident" Palmeiro injected steroids (or "steroid-like" substances.) No matter what you think of Palmeiro and his stats, this defense is very sketchy to say the least.
The reason I bring all this nonsense up is because President Bush today (who was involved with the Texas Rangers during Palmeiro's time) said, "He's [Palmeiro's] a friend...He's testified in public, and I believe him."
What a great opportunity. The President, probably to save face or be gracious or whatever, buys Palmeiro's ridiculous excuse.
Only one possible conclusion:
THIS PRESIDENT IS OBVIOUSLY VERY EASILY MISLED/GULLIBLE... I don't know, just something I was thinking about.
