Let's Define Bush

Wed Mar 03, 2004 at 11:15:45 AM PDT

How to deal with the millions Bush can put into  attack ads later in the season (puppy-kicking, etc.); that's the question, I think.  And I think the best way is to define Bush early on as untrustworthy.  MoveOn can do this; Kerry probably can't yet.  (CW seems to be to accentuate the positive first, and only then go negative.)  If people are convinced what Bush says is not trustworthy, the attack ads may lose their force and even boomerang.  How to do this?  Bush said it was urgent to invade Iraq because they had WMD's -- not so.  Bush said tax breaks for the rich would produce millions of jobs for the middle class --  not even close. You choose the third one.  What would it be?

  •  Uniter/divider; "honor and dignity" (none / 0)

Bush said he would be a uniter, not a divider. Instead, he has repeatedly caved to the most radical  groups on the right wing at the slightest sign of their displeasure, as witness the recent desperate (and apparently unwilling) introduction of the Hate Amendment.

Or you could go with his pledge to restore honor and dignity to the White House and then pick your favorite scandal and/or corporate kowtow.

The trouble with BushCoTM isn't that there's nothing to criticize. It's that there's so much to criticize. I can't wait to see their first big ad buy, because I'm dying to watch it backfire all over them. What are these people smoking, that they think they can win by pointing to this nincompoop's "accomplishments," especially on the economy and foreign policy (which are reportedly the main themes in this first ad buy)?

  •  Definition (none / 0)

Why do we have to define Bush when he's already in the dictionary?

    Bush
Noun. 1. The female genitals, but alluding to the pubic hair.
  •  Halliburton and Environment (none / 0)

He loves Halliburton, he loves the Environment not, he loves Halliburton, he loves the Enviroment not...

...that may not be God talking to you, George
