That's reportedly the amount of taxpayers' money which Arnold misused on the special election in November 2005. (Have also seen the number "$50 million," which would also work (i.e. "The $50 Million Man."))
He raised massive amounts of money from special interests in order to...do the bidding of those special interests....called it reform...and forced Californians to spend...$70 million on a special election that was unnecessary and uncalled for; for ballot measures rejected by California voters.
Arnold has become, in effect, the $70 Million Man.
Personally, if this kossack were Phil Angelides, my primary focus for the next 12 months would be to ensure that all Californians come to, first and foremost, think of Arnold as "The $70 Million Man." Everytime they do, it will not only remind them of the massive amounts of money he rakes in from special interests, but of how he misused taxpayer(and "misused" is the word that should always describe the political fiasco known as the California special election of 2005).
It will also remind people of how totally corrupt he and his administration have become.
If Democrats can successfully get average, everyday California citizens to refer to Arnold as the
"The $70 Million Man," Arnold will be a guaranteed loser next year.
There should be signs proclaiming this at every event where he shows up, and all Democratic events, as well....
"The $70 Million Man" signs everywhere.
