CNN report on Bush "high flexibility" ie flip-flopping

Mon Jun 28, 2004 at 03:39:40 PM PDT

Hi all,

I was amazed to see a report on Lou Dobbs tonight about Bush changing positions on a variety of issues... even using the term flip-flopping which Kerry has become aligned with in the media.  Did anyone else see it?  Lisa Sylvester was the reporter... good report.  It is nothing new to the Kossacks.. see this diary:
http://www.dailykos.com/story/2004/4/3/13241/77657 for a partial list.

The short list of Bush flip-flops covered in the story includes---
  1.  opposed to 9/11 comission
  2.  N. Korea refusal to negotiate
  3.  Baathists "barred" from the Iraqi army
  4.  "Osama bin Laden is the key" speeches
  5.  Saddam and 9/11-- they even showed a blurb about Bush himself saying there was no link!
There is a better list on this site somewhere of all his "flexibilities" and I couldn't find it with a quick search... anyway, add N Korea to the list..

The fact that I am encouraged to see the is truth filtering out... kudos to CNN here.  If we can tear down Bush's strong leadership arguments... he is extremely vulnerable.

  •  mojo jar.. (4.00 / 4)

If we can really filter this flip-flop reporting around... I can see it making a difference.  It has been through the media once.. and I would like to see it go at least another few media cycles.
  •  Saw it (none / 0)

my main reaction was that the freepers are going to go nuts over this report.  But yeah, it was nice to see!
  •  Ya know, I believe that the patriots (3.50 / 2)

are beginning to show themselves.  One can be liberal, conservative, progressive, libertarian, or just about any other political flavor, and still love this country enough to join ranks when it is time to do so.

I love this country, but it can do much better, and after this maladministration, it MUST do much better.

When "stupidity" suffices, why search for any other reason?

  •  Lou Dobbs (none / 0)

has been doing a great job for awhile. He has something on every night about out sourcing for instance.

I think he's a classic "good government" Republican, as many were in the Midwestern U.S. in opposition to the machine (and frankly corrupt) urban Democrats of that bygone era.

That's still the case in Illinois, actually. Even in the case of George Ryan, who has been indicted in the "licenses for bribes" scandal, we had a governor who halted the death penalty because he saw how corrupt it was. Ethics first, ideology second.

It's weird how Dobbs stands out from the CNN crowd. Moneyline is perhaps the only CNN program that actually informs, and not just on business news.
