I haven't had a chance to do one of these linky open threads in a LONG time. So given I have a bit of time before my event tonight at Mafiosa's in Nashville, I'm going to do one.
- Cool! Georgia10 is being featured in the Chicago reader. Front page, at that. She is literally the most read political writer in all of Chicago. As I told the reader, not even Mike Royko had as much of a reach. And all this from someone whose last name I just learned today for the first time.
- With all the talk of the Sierra Club and NARAL not working with the rest of the progressive movement in common cause, it's time for a more positive story. In a Ohio House race, a Democratic candidate locked in a primary battle lost his endorsements from several unions (UAW and teachers) after he distributed a hateful anti-gay piece of campaign literature.
- George Allen was a teen racist, and a really, really hateful one. And a sadist too. As much as I like Ryan Lizza (who penned the piece), the article is in
TNR the Lieberman Weekly, so I'm linking to Digby's take instead.
- NDN is starting to run this Spanish language ad (MP3) reminding Latinos which party is out to screw them.
- Pederson is closing the gap on Kyl in the Arizona Senate race. At least according to the latest ASU poll on the race.
- Blogads released its survey results. Poll junkie Chris Bowers dissects the results. No big surprises for me. I already know that blog readers aren't 20-somethings like the traditional media insists on thinking.
- Rahm Emanuel reads a love letter from the Republican Congress to their lobbyist friends on the House floor.
- Some of the best news I've heard in a while -- genius political adman Bill Hillsman (featured prominantly in CTG) will be doing media for Ned Lamont. Rest assured -- your contributions to Lamont won't be pissed away by the usual DC media consultants.
- A great story on the growth of progressive publishing and rising blogosphere stars. In this case, it's Ig Publishing and its publishing of Advisor Jim's Confessions of a Former Dittohead (which you can get at Amazon or your favorite independent bookseller.
- And man there are a lot of blogger books out there now! I keep forgetting to plug David Sirota's Hostile Takeover: How Big Money and Corruption Conquered Our Government--and How We Take It Back.
