Canvassing this weekend in Northern Virginia!

To those Daily Kos readers living in Northern Virginia, D.C. or Maryland:

We have a major canvassing effort going on this weekend and we need help! The weather is great, we work in pairs, and a script is provided, so what are you waiting for?

If we don't do it, who will?

For those unable to walk/stand for long periods of time, we also have phone banking Saturday, Sunday, and every weeknight throughout Nothern Virginia.

  I'll be at a booth at the Arlington Farmer's Market this weekend. And then I'm off to the Fairfax office that afternoon for some data entry.

  There's lots to do in VA, and I firmly believe it'll go blue this year.

•  Consider Canvassing

  or phone banking, mecki; we really don't have all that much data entry to do. There are many people who come in during the week to do data entry and we are pretty much caught up.

  What are you doing at the farmer's market? Visibility? That's great, but...

  This is our last big push for registering and identifying the voters we need to get to the polls in November. I hope you all will come join us!

    There was a huge last-minute push to register voters; the various news outlets reported that registrations in Virginia are double what they were four years ago at this time--especially in the areas of Arlington and Alexandria (heavily Democratic.) Yeah!

    We had canvassing teams out in close to 20 different locations. And our phone banks are working at capacity, too.

    So, all in all, a good weekend! Thanks for asking!
