Today's editorial in the Chicago Sun Times has a similar effect as watching "Triumph of Will":

The title: Voters usher in new reign of terror in Spain
The election in Spain was the most important development on the terror front since Sept. 11, 2001. It guarantees that this sort of carefully timed attack will become part of our modern landscape, certainly in Europe and perhaps here as well. How could it not, when it works so well?
Aside from the fact that much of it reads like a drunk freeper's ramblings:
Spain's reaction is a version of the American left's "Let's Not Do Things They Don't Like'' strategy -- the idea that it had to be some excess of our country that brought all this down upon us.
the corallary to the argument is: Let's screw the Arabs every chance we get to show them we won't back down.
The idiots at the Sun Times fail to recognize that it's not appeasement to recognize that the Arabs might have legitimate gripes about us lying our way into a war of aggression--and there is no doubt that lies were told. The US has such an arrogant attitude about what is "good" for the middle east that we have made Bin Laden a cult hero. Changing regimes to someone who doesn't refer to the War on Terrorism as a "Crusade" might just take the edge off their attitude toward the US and engender cooperation, rather than encouraging a grudge which does not at all help our cause.
