How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love Creationism.
Today's diary is a bit of a "feeler", about attitudes.
Depending on random factors I myself do not understand - some days I feel hopeful about the future of America, and others I am in despair.
It is impossible to think about political matters all the time. It would be unwise, and certainly unhealthy. While I appreciate the importance of political/cultural awareness, I also appreciate the value of mental health. Plus, most of us I suspect, are not involved in politics on a professional level - and have other responsibilities to attend to.
The War in Iraq is going terribly. Despite all the spin the Republicans can
buy, it seems no Armstrong Williams editorial will be turning around the public's growing discontent. Thankfully, even some Republican Congressmen are speaking out now. Good news all.
While I am aware there are many dire situations "on the burner" at any point - Gonzales, Tsumani, CBS firings, etc. That list, if made in earnest (an interesting project, hmmm) would be very long. Where one chooses to focus one's energy and attention is ultimately a personal matter - as is the tendency towards optimism or pessimism.
