If Howard Fineman is Right, Governor Dean has one more hurdl to clear before the DNC Chair election in 20 days.
Story is here.
Note: Anti-Dean candidates should not be constured to include Dean's opponents who have reform ideas about the party (Fowler, Rosenberg, Webb), but only those intended to prevent Dean from winning the chair or exercising influence.
The Anti-Dean forces have seen numerous DNC candidates beaten (Hindery, Blanchard, Malcolm, apparently Frost), or worse, turn coat (Vilsack), but haven't gotten the message that their party wants change. The idea that they are actively trying to tinker with party rules to cripple the Chair is sickening.
"There was a ton of positive energy at the house," a guest said later, "except for the fear and loathing of Dean." And why on Earth is that? It's not because Dean's a radical, a proven vote-loser, or even likely to strip them of their funding (they'll likely get a smaller piece, but of a larger pie).
What in God's name is WRONG with these people?
