The word from former Clark04 web guru
Eric Carbone:
The chatter in DC is that Al Gore has been contacting former staffers to explore a possible presidential run in 2008.
I was an unabashed Bradley supporter in 2000. I thought that Gore was a phony and that Bradley was one of the few truly "good" men to ever run for the White House.
That said, I think Gore has changed. Not completely, but enough. I think that being able to run as the former Vice-President of the United States gives him a unique message credibility. And he retains an amazing amount of loyalty and support among rank-and-file, non-activist Dems. Gore has to be taken seriously going into '08 (although I probably won't support him in any event).
