There will be a special election on February 15 for an open seat on the Westchester County Board of Legislators. (The seat has been vacated by George Latimer, a great guy who was elected to state-wide office in November.)
If you know anyone who lives in Rye, Mamaroneck, Larchmont, or (northern) New Rochelle, please ask him or her to vote for Judy Myers (D) on the 15th. Some information below, and I can provide more by email.
I am volunteering for the Democratic candidate, Judy Myers. She seems well-qualified and has been endorsed by several people whom I know and respect. I don't know the Republican candidate personally, but several of my friends do. From what I've heard from them and read in the NY Times (op-eds by the candidate, articles about him), I've gathered that he is both ultra-conservative and ambitious. He may be considering running for Nita Lowey's Congressional seat at some point. He has a fair amount of support, as some people are buying his lower taxes, increased efficiency mantra. I'm worried.
