Note-I live in central rural Nevada and have dealt with more than my share of chickenhawks, right wing whackos and nutters since I was a little kid.
To give you the backstory, http://www.elkodaily.com/articles/2005/02/28/news/local/news1.txt check here unless you've been keeping your finger on the pulse.
There was a thread on dK recently about Gibbons
but I wanted to expand on a point which was of great poignance to me, especially after lorraine's great diary, "This is my body" http://www.dailykos.com/story/2005/2/24/124716/589
{snip}Gibbons brought the crowd to near feverish pitch when he hit the hot button issue of abortion.
"I want to know how these very people who are against war because of loss of life can possibly be the same people who are for abortion?" Gibbons said. "They are the same people who are for animal rights, but they are not for the rights of the unborn."
He said that they are the same people who wanted to go to Iraq and become human shields for the enemy.
"I say it's just too damn bad we didn't buy them a ticket," Gibbons said.
Laughter rippled through the room, mingled with more applause.

J.R.R. Tolkien has described trees as being more important to him than people and I agree at times, so why does Gibbon hate Tolkien so much?
Also, don't think that Mr. Gibbons was original in his thought processes. He actually copied the speech from another nutter...

If you want to contact Mr. Gibbons through his web page, you'll need a zip code from his district. This is done easily through google.
I said something to the effect of, "the Pope is against the war in Iraq, should he be one of these human shields that you speak of?"
I'll defend Gibbons' right to say these very laughable and hateful comments, but I have to say, this clown represents me and I am offended, seeing as how this is almost day 1,300 of "where's Osama?" (I refer to Boosh's "dead or alive comments way back in his first term).
Any other suggestions on dealing with @%%hats like Gibbons?
