Not having as much time lately to dig past the recommended diary list and through the new diaries I had a thought; does anyone know if it's possible to change the code to show next to a diary's title how many recommends it has at any given time, just as it does with the number of comments below the title?
[more below]
So many good diaries come close to making the Recommended list but just don't make the threshhold before they fall off the page. It would help if a person could scan the most recent fifty or sixty entires listed on the main page margin (what's that, like fifteen minutes worth of new diaries these days? Haha, no, but really . . .) and be able to pick up on hot entries. I used to try and do this based on the number of comments but too often diaries with tons of comments were just food fights while some really good diaries only produced a dozen comments).
Another random thought, how difficult would it be to have code that allowed a dKos member to determine how many recommends were required to show up in a more personalized Recommended List? Maybe I'd like to see all those diaries with 10 or more recommends, and someone else might prefere a cleaner screen with only those with at least 20 recommends.
Thoughts?
