Let me be clear: as a Christian, Jerry Falwell has given all Christians a bad name with his pronouncement, his bigotry and his attempts to have Jesus co-sign all of it.
Having said that, we should remain vigilant and true to our core beliefs and values, but we should take the high road here and not wish for his death. I say that because if the chickens are coming home to roost for Rev. Falwell, if we start gloating about his misfortune, how soon that misfortune can be deflected from him and onto us. And we've suffered enough already.
His heart attack may be what God needed to get his attention and give God true representation, and not the political crap he's being doing in Jesus' name.
I see Pat Robertson learned absolutely nothing from his illness, but I also noticed that when John Ashcroft recovered from his bout with his gall bladder, maybe he had a conversation with the Lord and was told to get the hell out of the Justice Department for his part in the Patriot Act and sanctioning of prisoner's being tortured in Gitmo.
We are free to express how we feel about Falwell and his ilk. But we shouldn't get in the gutter with them when misfortune falls on them - that's taking the high road.
I'm not asking you to refrain from expressing how you feel. Every person who posts on here are class acts. Let's not get "ghetto" with the Bible Boys who give new meaning to the phrase "so ghetto". Us Kossites have more class than that.
