Kerry's on a roll.
Sen. Kerry is beginning to put into words what many of us here have said for a long time.
Building on his earlier quote, mentioned here,
I am sick and tired of a bunch of people trying to tell me that God wants a bunch of conservative judges on the court and that's why we have to change the rules of the United States Senate...
He has now sent a video to everyone. His prelude is this:
There are moments in our work together when it's important to step back, look each other in the eye, and decide what we need to do next.
This is one of those moments.
The Republican Party's leaders have set America on an extraordinarily dangerous path. We are no longer just debating the merits of one policy over another. It's far more fundamental than that. The far right seems set on a path that challenges the fundamentals of how we make our democracy work best for all of us.

more after the break...
Remember, the media WILL still focus on him, even though he was the "loser" in the election. He is a prominent Senate figure and is using his position well.
He continues...
It's essential for us to come together right now because, every day, Republican leaders are crossing lines that should never be crossed:
* The line that says a leader in the House of Representatives should never carelessly threaten or intimidate federal judges.
* The line that says a leader in the Senate should never accuse those who disagree with his political tactics of waging a war against people of faith.
* The line that says respect for core constitutional principles should never be undermined by a political party's quest for power.
* And, most important of all, the line that says a political party's leaders should never let their obsession with amassing power overwhelm the needs and interests of America's families.
Posting this diary is probably also a good reason for people to go off on the "we hate Kerry" rants. I guarantee it.

Great soundbite:
Everyday, the extreme right pushes republican leaders to do more and more of the things that the American people don't want their elected leaders to do. Misusing power for personal gain; inserting government into our private lives; overzealously injecting religion into debates about political agendas;
jumping through hoops to satisfy the most exteme elements of their party while refusing to lift a finger to help with the real problems that keep American families up at night.
Make no mistake about it, House Republican leader, Tom Delay, and Senate Majority leader Bill Frist's actions will result in a fundamental assault on core principles of American democracy. As a result, America's stability and America's future are at risk.

I'm really happy so many people are jazzed about Kerry's fighting words (and hopefully other Congressmen will join him).
I also want to say:
This diary had nothing to do with saying "Kerry '08". It's way to early to think about the logistics behind a frakkin presidential race.
The point was:
We have work to do NOW!
And he's helping.
