As you know, the Daily Kos website was unavailable today for an extended length of time. The important thing now is to
remain calm: the site is now back up, and the worst of the crisis is over.
Your cooperation will allow all members of the Daily Kos community to return to the safety of the comment threads in the shortest time possible.
There is no reason for panic. At this time, please make room to allow elderly and infirm posters -- those with user numbers less than 10,000 -- to post first. Then make your way in an orderly fashion to the nearest interesting thread, and once there follow the instructions of the story or diary author.
If you are accompanying a younger Daily Kos user -- someone with a user number greater than 40,000 -- please post your own comment first, before assisting them in posting themselves.
You may feel lightheaded or be experiencing physical symptoms such as dry mouth or physical tremors; this is normal, and will pass quickly. During this period, please refrain from making particularly clever or controversial posts, as they may cause increased heart activity. Do not panic those around you. Feel free to post introspective essays on the nature of blogging, examine polling statistics from downticket races, or post photographs of particularly interesting cats.
Please note that the unlikely event of a water landing, Cheers and Jeers may be used as a flotation device; remain there until your mojo returns to normal.
