This is going to be close to pushing the rules on reposting a diary . . . real close. I posted this late one night and very, very few people saw it. I didn't GIMP satellite images and make an animated gif with the international "No" sign for nothing!
The Seattle Kossacks are having 2 events this month.
The first one is the "regular" monthly meeting at the Pike Brewery.
We usually have the table in the back - up the stairs and near the mural.
These have been great fun. Except for the last one where I dropped the ball and didn't post a diary or 3. Sorry N in Seattle! This time we will be joined by em dash, long time Kos member and the founder of the blog Unbossed. So come on out and meet her.
When:
Saturday, May 14, 2005 at 7:00 PM
Where:
Pike Brewery
1415 1st Avenue
Seattle, WA 98115
206-622-6044
For this one there will be ethanol involved.
The second event is a BBQ. Molly Pitcher reserved a spot for us in Golden Gardens Park.
When:
Saturday, May 21, 2005 at 11:00 AM (It will go until about 4:00 officially)
Where:
Golden Gardens Park
8498 Seaview Pl NW
Seattle,, WA 98117
(206) 684-4075
It will be a potluck event so bring side dishes and something to put on the grill. Molly P will be kind enough to provide Hamburgers and Hot Dogs for 40. Thanks!
This is a family event so feel free to bring guests. And because it is a City Park there will be no ethanol involved.
After the BBQ - DFW/DFA is hosting a fundraisier for DFA with Jim Dean later Saturday evening, and we want all our Kossacks there! More details of this to follow.
All details and a place to RSVP is here.
If you want to have your email added to the general Seattle list send me one at SeattleLiberal AT msn DOT com.
This is from a comment by N in Seattle from the first diary.
A couple of things --
I strongly recommend the Pike Place event, even if I won't be there.
:-) As noted previously, I'm disappointed that I'll miss
the opportunity to meet em dash.
May 21, the day of the Kossack BBQ, is replete with events that you might want to participate in:
I particularly recommend the last of these, not coincidentally because I'm an officer of the 43rd LD Dems.
You're only young once, but you can be immature forever -- Larry Andersen
This leads me to believe that Democrats in The Northwest are in hibernation until May 21st when they flood out of their caves to do fundraisers. So come observe the facinating mystery that is Nature, as the herds of Democrats gather peacefully to graze char-broiled food in a beautiful natural setting.
Jim Fowler will leap out of a helicopter in the hopes of capturing one to tag. We will then be able to follow it to its secret meeting. "Woah - be careful there Jim! That one has a map to all the districts and he looks like he knows how to use it!"
"Thanks Marlin . . . now back to you"
(NO I'm not high, just had a 70's flashback to bad TV.)
