In love and compassion, let us pray* for our community, for the world, and for all in need.
We pray this night for:
- mikey9865 and the other friends and family of Matty, as they continue to mourn his loss;
- Nameless Soldier and the spouse of SoonerGrunt, on their way to service in Iraq;
- Delaware Dem, and all other Kossacks preparing to move;
- The Yearly Kos Team, as work progresses on their project;
- Fabooj and all other pregnant Kossacks, and all those who want to give birth to new life.
*Meditate, hold in good and active thought
We pray* for the needs of the world:
- For prisoners everywhere, but especially those who are jailed for their conscience or unjustly;
- For the people of Iraq, Afghanistan, Sudan, and all war-torn lands;
- For all children;
- For those who are forced into servitude, sexually exploited, or turned into objects;
- For the elected officials of the United States, that they might govern wisely and compassionately, and that they might seek the good of the nation before partisan gain;
- For researchers in stem cells and cloning in South Korea and around the world, that their technology might be put to wise and ethical use;
- For those who will go hungry this night.
And we pray* for all those in need:
- The sick;
- The sorrowing;
- The poor;
- Those who are hated and cast out from their community;
- The victims of violence.
As we lift up these prayers*, we remind ourselves of all that we have to be grateful for: friends, family, security, the beauty of the world around us. Help us to be mindful of these things, and to live and speak out of the deep peace and love that is at the center of existence.
