I figure this will irritate a few, but we should let Bolton get confirmed. We had the chance with the Filbuster and blew it...now here is another chance
Bolton's nomination is NOT a matter of importance to the party or in reality, the country. It is not a lifetime appointment and he makes the PERFECT poster boy for showing America how the right has no interest other than their own...just imagine the campaign ad - "People of all politacal persuasions agree that John Bolton has issues, he tried to get someone fired for telling the truth! But that didn't stop the Republicans for putting him forth as the image of America! Why, because they don't think about what is right for America, they just think about what is right for them...John Bolton - another example of what is happening to our country. Take back our Democracy. Vote Democrat"
We grasp desperately at straws for some sort of a victory against Bush...when the victory is focusing on the real issues that matter.

The Democratic Party is floundering about as usual...knee jerk reactions, pushback, big talk...and then giving in...Why not use the overreach by the GOP to our advantage..
Another commercial: "Look how the Republicans exercise Democracy- They appoint controversial people that will irritate even our allies, they expect Senators to make informed votes but refuse to provide important information, they rush through huge spending bills, not allowing time for your repsresentative to read and understand what they are voting on...and they call this fair...Take back our Democracy - Vote Democrat"
Think big picture: Bolton will embarrass himself, irritate other countries demonstrate the overreaching/ridiculous tendencies of the Bush administration...
I believe the resolution of the Filibuster issue was a HUGE mistake, we let wacko judges on the bench, and allow the GOP to keep pushing their agenda. Let's stand up for what we believe and show the Nation that we don't complain about anything "Bush" - by that I mean, show deference to his appointing cabinet and ambassador appt's, and let them embarrass themselves. After a while, the people jsut look at us and say, "THere they go again". We lost a great campaign issue (the changing of rules, pushing the right agenda)...
If (and when) a Democrat wins the Presidency again, any appointment will be seen as a saviour, other countries lining up to work with us.
