While many folks here continue to go back and forth in a number of diaries over what Howard Dean said this week, Karl Rove is laughing his chubby ass off.
This week, Dick Cheney said -- with a straight face -- that the Iraq insurgency is in its "death throes."
Bush claimed another corner turned in Iraq in his Rose Garden press conference.
But what are we discussing at dkos?
Howard Dean suggesting, offhandedly, that many Republicans don't work for their money.
God, are we idiots. No wonder we keep losing...

By engaging in
any discussion at all over Dean's comments, the Republicans win.
The media holds a dog biscuit on the other side of the flaming hoop and we leap through, like the well-trained pooches we are.
When Wolf Blitzer or Tim Russert or Chris Matthews or lil' Georgie asks Joe Biden or John Edwards about Dean's comments, I can't for the life of me understand why these guys need to justify such an inane question with an answer... particularly when we have soldiers being blown to pieces in an Iraq that Bush and Cheney claim is swell. Why do these guys bother answering such trivia? They should turn it around on these pinheads:
"That's not news. I note, [INSERT PINHEAD HOST NAME HERE], that you're not asking my Republicans colleagues about Dick Cheney claiming this week that the Iraq insurgency is in its 'death throes.' That's news, [PINHEAD]."
Was what Dean said ill-framed? Sure. But so what?
When are we gonna' wise up? When are the regular Dem talking heads (and why the hell is Biden on every fucking week anyway?) gonna' get some training on how to react to the bullshit spewed by these media clowns?
Christ almighty, in a week where the President and Vice President once again just blatantly make shit up, we're sitting here taking apart one sentence uttered by Howard Dean.
That's not Dean's fault. That's our fault.
We're idiots.
