Tired of having others choose your party's candidates?
Want to do something to promote Referendum C (for the non-Coloradans, this is our temporary patch for the draconian 'TABOR' consitutional ammendment [google it] that reads like a Grover 'strangle it in a bathtub' Norquist fantasy)?
Want to promote community and get to know your neighbors?
Then follow me to the other side of the rainbow...
and
join me at the first planning meeting for Neighborhood Civics Parties;
this Saturday, June 11, 2-4 pm, at Boulder County Dem HQ, 1725 Walnut St., Boulder.
We'll be planning a handful (or more, depending on how many people show up) of neighborhood parties to take place on Sept. 17. There'll be music, speakers on the ballot issues, more music, Dem candidates for governor, fundraisers and fun. At least that's the plan.
And while we've got everyone together, we'll see what else we can do to foster a sense of community: maybe take notes of who needs help shoveling their walk in the winter, who might be available to babysit, who could help with gardening tips; I don't know, that's what this planning meeting is for. Let's put it together. See you on Saturday.
