The new
ABC poll shows President Bush's net approval rating at the lowest of his presidency. Findings:
- 48% approve of the job the president is doing, and 52% disapprove.
- 58% say the president is not focused on issues important to them - around 80% of Democrats, 68% of independents, and 25% of Republicans.
- 58% disapprove of the job the president is doing in Iraq, while 40% approve.
Quoth the Washington Post:
Bush's mixed record in the second term on issues the public views as critical--particularly on Iraq and the economy--may be as much a liability for GOP candidates in next year's mid-term election as his performance in his first term was an asset to Republican congressional hopefuls last year and in 2002.
I think it's time for another news cycle about Howard Dean's controversial comments, don't you?
