A special election is going to be held in CA next November at the behest of Ahnold. The fundraising comes from out of state Republicans in TX and FL, primarily, who want to break the power of the Democratic party in CA once and for all.

This is going to be an ugly campaign with plenty of money spent and a wearying barrage of TV and other media advertising. The prediction is low voter turnout, exactly what the Republicans are praying for.

Rather than fight these initiatives point by point we need go after the whole enchilada. We need to frame this as those dirty Bush, Texas Republicans trying to meddle in our state.
Californians should be absolutely outraged at the gall of the Texans to try and take our state away, to the point that they're totally fired up to go to the polls in November and say: HOW DARE YOU TEXAS! NO WAY!
Maybe a fun catch phrase like: "Hasta la vista, TEXAS" would work.
The way to win this is not to take on the initiatives point by point but to so outrage Californians at outsiders meddling in our politics that they go to the polls and stand up for themselves.
(This is not to knock the many good Texans on this board. You are not behind this power grab in CA. How would you feel if a bunch of corrupt Californians tried to steal your state government?)
