I've never been in the military, much less in combat, so maybe it's not for me to say, but ...
Those kids over there *need* to believe in what they are doing. Because if they stop believing, they will start dying. Maybe some real vets can correct me, but from what I know about soldiering, the lower the morale, the higher the casualties. If you lose faith you lose the fight.
I hate Bush and Cheney and the rest of those pigs for what they've done. I think they have committed a crime in starting this war. I think they should go to jail for the rest of their lives for it ... and that's only because I'm against the death penalty. But as long as there are kids over there fighting for me, I want them to have every chance of making it back home. I want those kids to believe, because that's what is keeping them alive.
I guess what I'm saying is: think twice, think three times, think four times before joining the chorus of "we're losing ... it wasn't worth it ... it will never work". Maybe, for their sake, its better to follow the old adage "if you don't have anything good to say ... don't say anything".
