Today's RNC talking point is that Bob Novak actually was the one who told Karl Rove that Valerie Plame worked for the CIA, and Rove merely said he "heard something like that too" from another "unnamed" journalist, then proceeded to pass this information along or at least confirm it to Matt Cooper and possibly other journalists.

While this "fact", if true, could mean more problems for Novak, it decreases the possibility of criminal charges against Rove. BUT it only solidifies the case that Rove should be fired.
At the very least, Rove exercised incredibly poor judgment (judgment unbecoming a senior WH official) in confirming to Novak that he had "heard something like that too" and then passing the info on to other journalists.
He had a duty, as a government official with the highest security clearance, to at least check with the CIA to see what her status was before discussing/confirming it with journalists or anyone who did not have security clearance.
Plain and simple. Based upon his own admissions to date, he should be fired.
