The man shot by police in Stockwell tube station yesterday now appears not to have been connected to any terrorist group. An eye witness to the shooting -Mark Whitby- describes how the man was shot 5 times at point blank range while being held down by 3 plain clothes police. Every news outlet trots out the 'we should not rush to judgement' line, often while not explicitly reporting this aspect of the shooting.

In a case such as this physiological responses are at their extreme, as such armed officers are rigourously trained. However no-one would conclude this is a favourable outcome, the training failed.
