Let's just eliminate laws that congress ignores!
From www.tothepeople.com.
The draft Legislative Branch conference report, approved Tuesday by conferees, would exempt senators from that requirement -- which hasn't been enforced for as long as anyone can remember, according to Wayne Allard, R-Colo., Legislative Branch Appropriations Subcommittee chairman.
"If you're going to ignore a law, let's get it off the books," Allard said. "That's just good government."
Anyone else appalled by this that we ought to just start repealing laws that require our public servants (and don't forget, that's what they are) to do what we are paying them (with our taxes) to do, namely, appear in session and fulfill their obligations to their constituents. What we need is *more* accountability from our public servants, not less.
And I suppose that the real outrage of this issue is that it goes unenforced...
