I'm about to engage some reporters for overlooking a lie on the part of a local GOP candidate. As part of this, the GOP candidate used the term "Democrat Party" on her website.
I've read several times now that conservatives use "Democrat" (rather than "Democratic") because it polls lower... And even a few diaries from last year noting how Pres Bush changed his speeches depending on the audience (using "Democrat Party" for closed-door GOP audiences and "Democratic Party" for general audiences).
But I don't recall ever actually having seen an original source indicating the origins of this. Could someone please point me to an actual document which gives stats?
TIA
