It is not often that I disagree with either Kos or Armando. The other time I disagreed with Kos was during the primary when he fiercely supported Howard Dean and I fiercely supported Wes Clark, as I will do again enthusiastically in 2008. So it is with great pain that I have to state that Kos was wrong when he stated in the front page that Ronald Earle, the Travis County District Attorney, has no jurisdiction over Delay.
With that said, in Texas, the Travis County Public Integrity Department of the District Attorney's office has jurisdiction over state officials even those holding federal offices like Tom Delay if they violate election laws for example, even if they do not reside in Travis County. To make assurance doubly sure, I called Ronnie Earle's office and spoke with an Assistant District Attorney (I will not mention her name) and she confirmed that Tom Delay if found to have violated any relevant portion of the Texas Election Laws can be indicted by the Travis County District Attorney's office. Hence, Ronnie Earle's have jurisdiction over Tom Delay. So we still might get him, guys.
