My first thought when reading
this was, will any military families who have lost a loved one be touring?
Move America Forward will be conducting the "You Don't Speak for Me, Cindy" caravan beginning next week. It will feature military family members who have loved ones serving in the war against terrorism in Iraq or Afghanistan.
My second thought was, what assholes! My third was that this could get ugly and huge:
Move America Forward will lead a caravan of military family members opposed to the anti-military antics of Cindy Sheehan (the anti-war activist) to Crawford, Texas. The caravan will depart for Crawford early next week from different locations around the country. Move America Forward is working with a number of organizations around the nation to arrange for these multiple caravans.
I'm not familiar with this wingnut group beyond their head-wingnut, Melanie Morgan. One has to ask how much momentum this will get. I shudder to think of the denizens of freeperville gathering outside
Camp Casey.
From their press release
The national organization that supports our troops and the war against terrorism, Move America Forward (website: www.MoveAmericaForward.org), is announcing today the formation of the "You Don't Speak for Me, Cindy" tour.
Naturally to these people, a woman whose son died in Bush's war doesn't support the troops. Then there is a subtle (eye roll) 9/11, Iraq link:
"We understand that it was the terrorists led by Al Qaeda in Iraq who are responsible for the deaths of U.S. service members, including Casey Sheehan," concluded Johns.
I think we need to match and surpass this group in size, but above all, remain peaceful.
