BUSH SPOKESMAN SAYS CRITICS WANT TERRORISTS TO WIN: Aboard Air Force One Monday, "Trent Duffy, a White House spokesman ... said that President Bush believes that those who want the U.S. to begin to change course in Iraq do not want America to win the overall 'war on terror.'" Duffy said that Bush "can understand that people don't share his view that we must win the war on terror ... but he just has a different view."
See the response to this America bashing comment below.
Mr. Duffy,
I know your boss is busy resting and stuff so I thought I would pass my remarks to you. First to win the war on terror we need to start a war on terror and not Iraq. Now you seemed to get going ok in afghanistan but then this Iraq distraction sort messed ya up.
Every war requires a strong defense. Think you fucked this one up too. Have we fortified and protected soft obvious targets here at home? Have we protected our ports and harbors against terroistic attacks? Have we made significant and meaningful improvements to local public safety especially in communications and an increase in the number of officers on the street. Have we improved our human intelligence capability? Have we squandered more than 1800 lives in a misbegotten search for WMD's in IRAQ and now changed the reasons we are there to "we must remain to honor our fallen". Talk about circular logic.
The truth is Mr. Duffy, Americans believe, more and more every day we are in an Iraqi quagire and that this administration has gotten seriously and dangerously sidetracked in the so called war on terror (it is really the Iraqi war dumb ass). Oh by the way didn't you get the memo - it the Global Struggle Against ..thingamabobs now a days. Check with Novak, he'll get you squared away. Whatever...
So Mr. Bush has a different view does he. Don't suppose you have been checking out the polls lately but more Americans than ever have a different view than Mr. Bush. But if the Bush Boss has a different view, fine leave it at that. It is only when you add criticisms of Americans that your remarks go past the acceptable point. Please quit critisizing and attacking American's for having a different view point than Mr. Bush. We want to win.. it is the Amercan way. We also ought to know how to pick our fights in response to an attack. That is why FDR declared war on JAPAN when they attacked Pearl Harbor in 1941 and not MEXICO.
As a representative of an elected offical Mr. Duffy, you should not attack the citizens who pay your salary. But you need to know that it is our right and expectation to raise issues with the administration, even critisize you and to do so with out receiving any lip from you or your boss when doing so. Or is it that you do not have a clear understanding of this nation?
Since your administration is exporting democracy and freedom are we to assume that the efforts you are making in Iraq are representative of your understanding about how democracy and freedom work? If so then it is my sad duty to inform you that you are clueless as to how America works. Since this is a problems for you and the administration that you serve by your improper remarks to the press about those rejecting your administration's policies (about 60% of Americans) please save us the trouble from further reminders of your inappropriate conduct and resign. You will save us all a lot of trouble and likely thousands of lives. Please pass this upwardly in your chain of command, if you know what this means.
Sincerely,
Brother Dave
