As you know by now, on Monday, former Republican presidential candidate Pat Robertson called for the US sponsored assassination of Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez. He treid to apologize, but he realy didn't - and lying about what he said on TV in the process.
This mishap raises critical questions about the 2005 races in Virginia.
Strangely silent from the debate in the aftermath of Robertson's comments has been Virginia Republican gubernatorial candidate Jerry Kilgore and his compatriot Republican attorney general candidate Bob McDonnell.
You may be asking, "so what?" Well, upon closer inspection this silence is deafening.
Robertson is a heavy hitter in Virginia Republican campaign circles. In the past 5 years, Kilgore has taken $62,500 from Robertson. McDonnell has taken $41,000. Furthermore, McDonnell's wife, Maureen McDonnell, is on the Board of Directors at Robertson's Regent University. In light of this, Virginians deserve to know: "Does Robertson speak for his favorite sons, Kilgore and McDonnell?"
Honestly, with Republican blogs criticizing Robertson and calling him a "moonbat" and dismissing him - they need to wake up an realize he is funding their Gubernatorial and attorney general candidates in Virginia.
Heartland PAC has even launched a campaign for both of them to return the Robertson money:

Make sure everyone knows about this connection - it is an important distinction betweeen Jerry "win at any costs" Kilgore and Tim Kaine Democrat.
Raising Kaine has more of course.
