Sickened along with all of you at the gross incompetence and ignorance of humanity all the way to the stinkbomb at the top: The George Bush Administration who I never thought would be the symbol of what we have become, I have wept openly for this tragic city and the beautiful coast and can't get past this loss. For it is a horrendous loss.
THEY CAN'T FIX THIS.
You can't bring back a city in its death throes or any of it's people that have perished. All that can be done is donations and prayers.
I wish to call on all so-called right-wingers, those of you who voted for Bush, those who think it's more important to bring Islamic rule to a previously non-religious state. (I won't say secular because I doubt you know what that means.)
I ask you honestly while you either spend your tax cut at Neiman Marcus or Walmart to look at what you have sacrificed in your idiocy and connect the dots right here at home in the polluted waters of a once glorious city who gave us jazz and the blues along with beignets and gumbo.
I ask you to FEEL SOMETHING. I don't think you are capable of compassion, at least for the poor whom you condemn for needing help and begrudge the slightest percentage of your tax dollars so that you can burn more of everyone's oil in your honkin' SUVS, but surely you can muster up some emotion for AMERICAN PEOPLE WHO ARE DYING IN ONE OF THE FORMER MOST BEAUTIFUL AND CULTURAL AMERICAN CITIES???
I'm sorry, I can no longer write.
