I don't normally frequent the pages of Free Republic (and when I do, I always feel compelled to take a long, hot shower afterwards). But I was curious to know what's going on over there, and what kind of talk is going on regarding the situation in the hurricane damaged south. The talk is not all compassionate -- as you may have guessed. But today I found something of interest:
a post entitled,
Former CIA Director Tenet Threatens Disclosures?. The story is from
NewsMax.com, another site I do not frequent, and says, in part, that, "...Tenet, said to be the target of what the Washington Times called 'a scathing report by Inspector General John Helgerson' - may go public with embarrassing disclosures about the Bush administration and its actions leading up to Sept. 11, 2001." I don't know anything about the NewsMax site, except that it seems to be, from some of the banner ad, a conservative site.
With the handling -- or rather, mishandling, of the Katrina relief operations, this could be the straw that breaks this administration's back.
Stay strong -- and send your money to hurricane relief operations and your prayers out to our brothers and sisters in the south!
