I waited till today to post this, because I needed to let my rage subside, and I didnt want to say something in public, that would have gotten me a "friendly" visit by the Secret Service.
I believe that the response to one of the worst natural disasters on American soil, and the rescue effort by our Government for our citizens, was "the mother of all screwups".
I ask all Americans to ponder these 10 questions...
1. If you were President, would you have been playing golf for two days, while hundreds, maybe thousands of people were drowning, and dying from lack of food and water?
2. If you were Vice President, would you have remained on vacation, while hundreds, maybe thousands of people were drowning, and dying from lack of food and water?
3. If you were Secratary of State, would you have started your vacation, while hundreds, maybe thousands of people were drowning, and dying from lack of food and water?
4. If you were President, would you have called off your vacation before Katrina made land, while it was devestating the Gulf Coast, or 2 days after?
5. If you were President, would you appoint someone to the federal Emergency Management Agency, that had no emergency management experience whatsoever?
5. If you were head of the Federal Emergency Management Agency, would you get your hurricane information from the morning local newspapers, to learn of the severity of Katrina?
6. If you were President, would you have ordered food and water drops to the Superdome, on day 1, day 2, day 3, day 4, or wait till day 5?
7. If President Clinton did exactly what President Bush did, to handle this catastrophe, would the Republicans be calling to impeach President Clinton today?
8. If all the National Guard units deployed to Iraq, were here instead of the Middle East, would that have helped or hurt the situation?
9. Do you think that FEMA did a god job handling this catastrophe?
10. Do you think the Bush Admistration did a good job handling this catastrophe?
I have never been so outraged and disgusted by my Government as I am at this moment...
