What more is there to say? Bush came off his vacation while people died. End of story. So what's next? Not much if we waste our time trying to defend Democratic leaders at the local level. Who cares if Ray Nagin goes down? Does Gov. Blanco inspire you? Me neither. The net result of the Bush Presidency is the loss of an American city. It's time to get this bum out of office. Seriously.

I'm no expert but when you let Americans citizens die due to your policies and appointments then you should step down. Seems simple enough yet we all sit around bitching about MSM slants on the story. To me this argument seems irrelevant. We know the truth. There's no denying anymore that this administration is at best, incompetent and at worst, at war with its own people. And to me this is unacceptable.
I'm a pretty average American. Somewhat informed, college educated, voted in every election. When Gore `lost' to GWB I never really thought anything of it. "What's the difference, really?" I thought, and I've regretted it ever since. Seeing the death and abandonment in New Orleans has shown me the stark reality of this administration. It has got to go.
So how do we do this? The short hand is win back the house and impeach his ass. At the beginning of the week I would have said it's a slam-dunk. Today I'm not so sure. While we have all been encouraged by the MSM emergence from its self-imposed coma I already see the signs that it was a false alarm. Their symbiotic relationship with the government makes them unable to question the government in any real or substantial manner. The press has gotten fat off of Watergate and now it's a bloated pig. Now it's our turn. We as a people have to step up.
What is behind our anger at the media? Simple, we want someone else to do our jobs as citizens and then we get pissed off when they turn out to be as lazy as we are. (This applies to some, not all. Don't disregard the whole post because you feel I've minimized you.) Well I for one have been radicalized by recent events. The weekend of 24th is my 20th year reunion. I was looking forward to it. Not anymore.
I'm going to DC. I have to. I'm doing it because it's time for me to kick in. It's time to stand up and be counted. I'm doing it for the soldier who's on the front line and wondering why he's there. I'm doing it for my sons. I'm doing it for the people who couldn't leave New Orleans because they had nowhere to go and no way to get there. I'm going to hopefully inspire others who think like I do and wonder, "What difference does it make?" But most of all I'm going because I love this country. America does stand for something and the time is now to show people what that is.
I'll see you guys there.
