Swing State Project is reporting that Dr. John Orman has ended his bid to challenge Sen. Joe Lieberman, Democrat of Connecticut, in the Democratic primary. Orman had only raised $1,000 to Lieberman's $3.8 million.
Much as I am no fan of Joementum, I think this may be good. It saves us money that could have been wasted on a useless, hopeless, quixotic primary. Now we can use that money for something more useful than trying to oust a heavily popular, well-funded three-term moderate Democrat. Like, oh, defeating Jim Talent. Or Conrad Burns. Or Lincoln Chafee.
