Here in bluest-of-blue Illinois, one of our rising star young Democrats is
State Representative John Fritchey.
John is an amazing guy, a straight shooter and a progressive who knows how to get things done: somehow, he's managed to be a "Chicago Democrat," which can be a bad word in a lot of parts of Illinois, while not becoming radioactive and winning real victories for working people in Illinois.
More after the jump:
John recently launched a remarkably candid blog,
Dome-Icile, which has taken the Illinois blogosphere (left and right) by storm.
John is young, influential, full-to-bursting with ideas (spend ten minutes and you'll get two hours of ideas) and dedicated to making progressivism mean something again.
If you are from Illinois, or if you are just a progressive looking for a Democrat who gets it, stop by Dome-Icile and join in the conversation.
When an elected official takes a major step like this, it is important that we progressives support them. As long as John is blogging like this, it provides the people with a direct conduit to the political process and forces his colleagues to pay attention.
I'm not asking for money on his behalf: and as you'll not, nowhere does he ask for money, either. The netroots are not an ATM for John, they're a revelation.
Visit, say hello, and pass the word along: the revolution may be starting here, in blue Illinois, in bluest Cook County!
