I think what's starting to sink in about Katrina is this:
Any of us might be next. Any of us might be that dead guy on the levy being eaten by a dog.
Any of us could be the next rotting corpse littering the street of some city.
And what's worse -- the Republicans will then blame you.
Blaming the corpses.
This doesn't even include all those who died on 9/11. Unfortunately 9/11 is now something that people consider "arguable". As in it's arguable whether or not Bushco could have done anything to prevent it. We all know he could have and should have, but many others simply don't believe this.
However, in the wake of Katrina, it is abundantly clear that no matter what happens -- terrorist attack, natural disaster, man-made accident (think Bhopal), or, God help us all -- the Bird Flu pandemic, which the World Health Organization is now saying is INEVITABLE ...
The Republicans will not only NOT help you, they will be so incompetent that they will WORSEN the situation.
And any of us could be the next rotting corpse in the street. Being verbally kicked around by the Right Wing Spin Machine.
It just doesn't get any uglier than this.
America must realize that it has brought this disaster known as "conservatism" upon itself.
And it's self-destructive and dangerous.
So, what do we do about the coming bird-flu pandemic? Think Bushco is ready for it? Think they give a shit?
They're saying millions around the world will die. How many of us will that be? Might be me. Might be you. Might be that conservative asshole across the street.
The most shameful thing about Katrina is this:
That the entire American population isn't screaming for Bush's resignation.
