As many of you probably know, Howard Dean sent an email today asking for contributions to Ferrer's campaign.
While I will vote for Ferrer, he is widely viewed as a huge underdog. I am interested in others views of this outreach by the DNC? Do you think it will have an effect on the election if several major party contributors decide to fund his campaign?
See some of Dean's message on the other side...
A key component of our 50 state strategy is to win where Democrats are supposed to win. That includes New York City, which has been under Republican control for the last decade. You have a chance to fix that by helping elect Freddy Ferrer in November. You can help defeat Mayor Mike Bloomberg, George W. Bush's largest donor.
Many Democrats don't consider Mike Bloomberg a "real" Republican or a threat to our values. Those Democrats are wrong. While Republicans have been in charge of New York City, more and more working families are falling behind. Freddy is running for mayor because he wants to build a city that works for everyone -- where there are good public schools in every neighborhood, where there is plenty of housing families can afford, and where there are good jobs available for all of us.
