Think Progress shows how desperate the right wing talking heads are to blame it on Clinton. Either Michael Reagan is a complete moron or he is lying - you decide below with a poll.
This is how
Think Progress is reporting what happened on Faux News last night. Sometimes you just have to
see and hear it with your own eyes and ears! Here is what he said if you don't want to see it.
Michael Reagan: First of all, I don't think the president had anything to apologize for. FEMA was at Katrina quicker than they were at Andrew or Floyd or any one of the hurricanes you can name before that, when Bill Clinton was President of the United States. Nobody was calling for [Clinton FEMA director James Lee] Witt to be taken down. Nobody was calling on Bill Clinton to be thrown out of office because of it.
Only problem is, Mikey me boy, is that Hurricane Andrew struck Florida in August 1992 - FIVE MONTHS BEFORE PRESIDENT CLINTON TOOK OFFICE! It seems you have your father's same problem of understanding and remembering things like history. How many time did daddy say I can't recall in the Iran Contra investigation.
Think Progress provides a nice link to Wikipedia for Mikey to review. It really was helpful to read. And then I came across this little acorn.
The slow response of federal aid to storm victims in southern Florida led Dade County emergency management director Kate Hale to famously exclaim at a nationally televised news conference, "Where in the hell is the cavalry on this one? They keep saying we're going to get supplies. For God's sake, where are they?" Almost immediately, President Bush promised, "Help is on the way," and mobile kitchens and tents began pouring in.
Deja Vu all over again. I guess the Bush pattern is that you only respond when they whine. No proactive thought or leadership allowed. Afterall, there is weapon selling and wars to contemplate. So the nut did not fall far from the tree did it? So where or what was Bush 40 doing? Vacation perhaps. Packing up the dolls and dishes at the Whitehouse? One thing is for sure, it appears that the response was shall we say slow. Even the moron Michael Reagan said it was slow but puts the blame on Clinton.
The meme is so powerful that the Repug talking heads instinctively go for the "Blame Clinton" message. No word on whether the moderator of this program corrected the idiot. Doubt that they would since they own the meme as well.
Death means nothing to the Bush family. It is just something others must suffer - like poverty, joblessness, destruction, and misfortune. We suffer your leadership which you have gained by appointment of the Court or riding in on a pack of lies - even to the extent that you told to read those lips.
Please everyone of us must remember history - because if we don't the lies just keep coming at ya.
