Please join with me in asking Brain Ross to re-visit the sweatshop, human trafficking story they have covered in the past. If you have read the well investigated work
Dengre has done then you are well aware of the humanitarian and political importance of this story. (Please read
his latest diary here for information)
ABC 20/20 has done 2 significant investigative reports on the CNMI sweatshop scandal prior to Bush being elected.
It is time that ABC revisit the CNMI because the inhumane conditions have not changed and the Abramoff link to corrupt congressmen has been exposed more than ever.
Brian Ross was the reporter involved in this story. Here are links to ABC's past coverage. Here is the link to the ABC 20/20 piece on the CNMI
The Shame of Saipan and here is the interview that
Amy Goodman of Democracy Now did with Brian Ross regarding the 20/20's expose.
Brian Ross is no longer with 20/20, he is now ABC's Chief Investigative Correspondent.

Countdown with Keith Olbermann
Some folks may think that the MSM would not touch this story, but I think they might. It has many of the topics that have drawn audiences; human trafficking and minors in the sex trade, add forced abortions and sweatshops, then stir with the faces and names of Jack Abramoff, Tom Delay, Bob Ney, John Doolittle, Richard Pombo.... add $$$$$$ campaign donations, favors,
then to give it punch, add that snuffed out 2001 Terrorism Risk report for the CNMI & Guam that Abramoff worked to make disappear.
The media does respond to requests if enough people show interest.
