Fitzgerald is smart enough to know that, with all the politics involved, he can afford only to indict cases he's certain he can win.
So, expect only Libby and two or three other minor underlings to be charged in the Plame case. And expect them to plead out for reduced sentences without implicating anyone else. And get used to the idea that neither Bush, nor Cheney, nor Rove, nor Rice nor any of the other big guns will get any serious grief from this.
Here's how it shook out: Judith Miller's corroborating testimony was key to proving not one, but TWO conspiracies - the Plame outing, AND the WH lies to Congress about Iraq's WMD threat. Miller wouldn't testify at all - ever - about anything unless Fitzgerald agreed to limit his scope to only the Plame case and to let the WMD conspiracy go.
And he took the deal.
Unless the Grand Jury runs away from Fitzgerald and attempts to indict on shaky evidence, it's over.
Go to bed. Nothing more to see here. Watch CNN in the morning, be bummed, take an extra Paxil, go to work (if you still have a job). Have an extra drink or two while watching MNF.
Then get up the next day and remember how all those Dems were keeping their powder dry.
