As always, the top comments of the day are highly subjective, controversial, should only be used under strict medical supervision.
The original impetus for this diary series may be found here.
Selected comments are from the past 24 hours. Give the authors some love and mojo for their efforts. And please add any I missed in your own comments below.
More fun after the fold:
It seems to be a meta kind of day here at dKos.
BeninSC asked me last night how I was enjoying my dKos experience so far. I've had time to think about that as I've been reading today.
I love the idea of community. Community is what knits this together into a movement: the more we talk, the more we share, the more important what we're doing becomes to all of us both as individuals and as a group. Can anyone here read something offline about healthcare and not think about OrangeCloud's recent battle with insurance companies? Or anything about the economy and not relate it back to something bonddad said a few diaries ago? Do you look at spiders differently? I could keep going here, but the deadline to post looms and I think you understand me.
And we (much like a certain political party I could name) need to discover where the edges are. We need to discuss what's important to the group. We must take a hard look at who we are and what we stand for. That said, we must be mindful of the responsibility that comes with the exposure we've got. We must take this country back. Or someday soon, we may not be able to talk much about anything, at all.
Speaking solely for myself: I'm here to learn. You're encouraging me to think and question. You don't know me well enough yet to know how intensely important that is to me. And I, like many others, am standing over by the wall and listening. I do Top Comments because it's a way for me to contribute to the community while I listen. Please keep talking. I need to hear this stuff.
And maybe one day I'll have learned enough to start a conversation of my own. That's the point, right?
