There are hints of conspiracy charges out there, BIG HINTS IMO. Fitz could indeed be putting together the "blockbuster" conspiracy charges after all:
Per the LA Times, Fitz has dispatched FBI agents:
Fitzgerald has also dispatched FBI agents to comb the CIA agent's residential neighborhood in Washington, asking neighbors again whether they were aware -- before her name appeared in a syndicated column -- that the agent, Valerie Plame, worked for the CIA.
The questioning, described by lawyers familiar with the case and by the neighbors, occurred as Fitzgerald was thought to be readying indictments in the long-running inquiry into the leak of Plame's identity. It is a felony to knowingly identify an undercover agent, and the renewed questions this week suggested that the prosecutor remained focused on the breach of that secrecy.
hmmm HMMMM:
Those familiar with the case state that Fitzgerald may not seek indictments that assert officials leaked Plame's name illegally. Rather, they say that he will focus charges in the arena of lying to investigators. The sources said, however, they wouldn't rule out charges of conspiracy.
The point I wanted to make: we need to filter through the clutter and make a concerted effort to keep the focus on Rove, Libby, Cheney, and most of all, Bush's conspiracy to wage a lying war, and beyond that to keep Fitz's personal non-partisan facts straight.
Wilson will be their target; they will try to tie Fitz in with their Wilson spin. Don't let them.
It is counter-productive to try to defend Wilson's attacks on BushCo because they were indeed attacks, albeit justifiable attacks on their lying, bullying tactics and WE admire him greatly for taking on Goliath, but it may only further confuse the busy people who only know about this in snippets: we must target the truth of Bush's war lies and the truth of Fitz's non-partisanship because, well, those 2 things not spin, but are in fact the facts. We must target in soundbites ourselves (let's retire "Fitzmas" now that it is here though). Leave the soldiers warfare to the battlefield and defend Fitzgerald because he is unimpeachable in his integrity, and most of all, is not a soldier against Bush: that fact makes for David's best chance to take down Goliath.
