One could say he should do a little fact finding in his own country, but actually it's smart. Others need to object to the election here while he goes about his business examing the wreckage in Iraq which is high profile and presidential.
My thoughts:
Kerry had better be darned impressive on this world tour. If the Congressional Black Caucus once again calls for a challenge to Bush's "election" and Kerry is AWOL as a senator to support them it will not be good for him.
For his sake he'd better be impressive enough over there to garner a win with
no support from the African American community in 2008. This trip could have waited. I fear it was timed so that he wouldn't have to be present for the special session to take the political risk of either challenging BushCo on the election or telling the CBC "Stop crying in your teacups" again... to their faces.
